sewiyan kheer/semiya payasam

Hi........today I'm going to show you Indian traditional sweet dish semiya kheer that is vermicelli kheer....this is very yummy in taste and easy to make.

In india,especially in south india this dish is very popular.....when we was kids mom used to prepare this dish for us,we really love to eat this kheer.
My brother still loves to eat this kheer.
This is a traditional sweet dish in south india.in every special occasion or any festivals we prepare this dish.
Now a days there are so many types of sweets are available but few years back there were only homemade sweets to eat.this was dish mostly liked by people.


ingredients :

Semiya/vermicelli : 1 cup
Sugar : 1 cup
Milk : 3/4 liter
Cardamom/elachi : 2 crushed
Ghee : 1/4 cup
Cashew nuts almonds : 1/2 cup
Condensed milk : 1/2 cup

Method :
1)first take a pan pour ghee and heat it.add nuts and fry till golden Brown.

2)take fried nuts in a bowl and keep a side.

3)now in a same pan add vermicelli and fry till it changes in to golden color 

4)now add hot milk to vermicelli and cook till vermicelli softens.pour more milk if required.

5)now add sugar, cardamoms and condensed milk and cook till sugar is completely dissolved.

6)switchoff the flame and add fried nuts before serving.

7)enjoy the yummy tasty semiya payasam.

 take a pan add ghee and heat it
 Add nuts
 Fry them till they changes into nice golden color and take them in a bowl
 In same pan add vermicelli
 Fry till changes into golden color
 now add hot milk
 Stir continuously
 Cook till vermicelli is cooked,take vermicelli in fingers, if it breaks vermicelli is cooked
 now add sugar
 Add crushed cardamoms and stir well
 Now add condensed milk and cook till sugar dissolves completely

 now yummy semiya kheer/semiya payasam is ready to serve....if required add more milk and serve hot or cold
