khubani ka meetha recipe


I'm celebrating 10,000 likes on Facebook!!!!!!! Yay!!!!!! so,thought to make something special then immediately made this yummy dessert!!!!!

Khubani ka meetha is an Indian dessert made with dried apricots originating from Hyderabad. This is a common feature in hyderabadi weddings.infact I first tasted this dessert in Hyderabad at my cousin's wedding. I just tasted this dessert 3 Times, I like the taste of this khubani ka meetha.

          Yesterday prepared this dessert for the first time my kids enjoyed a lot.my elder daughter rida ate bowl full khubani ka meetha at a time ha ha ha....

           making khubani ka meetha is so simple and easy.we can serve this with ice cream, custard ,top with fresh cream or you can have as it is.

          Hope you like this recipe and give it try.

Ingredients :

Dried apricots (khubani) : 250 grams
Sugar : 250 grams
raspberry or red food colour : 1 pinch (optional)

Method :

Wash and soak dried apricots for 5 to 6 hours

Take out the seeds from dried apricots

You can break shell of the seed and take out the nuts and add it while cooking. I was little bit lazy to do that.

Now take a pan add this soaked apricots along with water which we have soaked.

Now cook this for 5 to 8 minutes then add sugar and food color cook till it becomes to little thick consistency (it takes around 3 to 4 minutes) then switch off the flame and serve!!!!

Wash dried apricots

Soak them in water

Take out the seeds

Add this to pan


Cook for 5 to 8 minutes

Add sugar

Stir it

Add food color

Switch off the flame at this consistency

Yummy khubani ka meetha is ready!!!!
