HOMEMADE FONDANT RECIPE/ROLLED FONDANT RECIPE



Fondant recipe was requested by many members from so many days. Sorry guys for late posting. Finally here is the recipe for homemade rolled fondant. Don't think that making fondant at home is complicated. You are completely wrong. This Fondant recipe is very easy to make also very easy to work with.you can cover and decorate your  cakes, cupcakes with this Fondant. I will show how to cover cake with fondant in my upcoming posts. Ingredients :

Icing sugar : 900 grams to 1 kg
Gelatin : 1 table spoon
glycerin : 1 table spoon
vanilla essence : 1 tea spoon
Liquid glucose or corn syrup : 1/2 cup
Veg shortening/butter : 2 table spoons
Water : 1/4 cup/60 ml

Method :

First sift the icing sugar well, take 400 grams of icing sugar in a bowl and keep a side.

Now take water in a pan add gelatin and let it bloom. It takes 5 to 10 minutes.

Now put this pan on very low flame or double boiler and stir gently until gelatin dissolves completely. (don't over cook gelatin)

Now add corn syrup,glycerin and veg shortening, stir gently until all ingredients are well combined in low flame. Once all ingredients are melted, immediately remove from fire.

Now add vanilla essence and mix it well.

Now add this mixture to icing sugar bowl. Mix it well without lumps.

Now add remaining icing sugar little by little and knead into a smooth dough.

Take this on clean and dry surface and knead it by adding remaining icing sugar.

Now grease some oil to your hand apply all over the dough an cover with cling wrap and place this in air tight container and place on shelf. Use it on next day.

Note :

Here are the few important tips.

If your fondant is too stiff just sprinkle few drops of water and knead into a smooth dough.

If your fondant is sticky sprinkle some more icing sugar and knead until it becomes non sticky.

You can add any flavor as per your choice.

This fondant can be stored upto 2 months in airtight container without refrigerator.

Don't refrigerate fondant and fondant cakes.

Sift icing sugar well and keep a side

Take water in a pan and sprinkle gelatin and set a side

Take 400grams of sifted icing sugar in a bowl

Gelatin has bloomed now

Put this on very low heat

Stir it until gelatin melts

Now add corn syrup or liquid glucose

Add glycerin

Add butter or shortening

Melt it on low flame until all ingredients dissolves and well combined

Remove from fire and add vanilla essence

Mix it well

Now take icing sugar bowl, make well in the middle

Add gelatin mixture

Mix it well

Mix without lumps

Now mix it well by adding icing sugar little by little

Now dust some icing sugar on clean surface knead fondant well by adding icing sugar


Knead it into smooth dough until non sticky by sprinkling icing sugar

Now our smooth fondant is ready


Grease your hands with oil

Apply oil all over the fondant

Cover with cling wrap

Homemade fondant is ready, store this in airtight container and use on next day
