Rajma/kidney beans : 250 grams
Large onion : 1 (pureed)
Medium tomatoes : 3 (pureed)
coriander powder : 1 table spoon
Chilly powder : 1 tea spoon
Turmeric powder : 1/2 tea spoon
Cumin powder : 1/2 tea spoon
Garam masala powder : 1/2 tea spoon
Cumin seeds : 1/2 tea spoon
oil : 2 table spoons
Coriander leaves : 2 table spoons
salt to taste
ginger garlic paste : 1 tea spoon
First soak rajma for 4 to 6 hours and boil until rajma get cooked then keep this a side.
Now heat oil in a pan add cumin seeds let them crackle
Now add onion paste saute for 2 minutes then add ginger garlic paste saute until it turns into golden color.
Now add all spice powders saute for few seconds then add tomato puree and salt saute until mixture gets dry.
Now add boiled rajma saute for 1 minute then add 2 to 3 cups of water and cook on high flame by covering the lid.
When gravy becomes thick simmer the flame and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Finally add coriander leaves and serve.
|Soak rajma for 4 to 6 hours|
|Boil rajma until well cooked|
|Heat oil add cumin seeds|
|Add onion paste saute for couple of minutes|
|Add ginger garlic paste saute till raw flavors disappear|
|Add all spice powders|
|Saute for few seconds|
|Add tomato puree|
|Saute for few minutes|
|Add boiled rajma|
|Cover with lid and cook till gravy becomes thick|
|You can adjust gravy consistency as per your taste|
|Finally sprinkle coriander leaves|
