This is most popular dish in south india .in some places they call vada and in Andhra they call garelu and vada.there are many types of vadas are there which I'm going to share in my blog.
I know everyone know this recipe,but as I always said there are so many beginners in cooking .so,I'm posting this recipe specially for them. I often prepare these vada and serve with idly and Sambhar for breakfast and some times with chicken curry at the evenings. Eating vada with chicken curry is really tasty. You should definitely taste once in your life time.But in ramzan I frequently make vada for iftar along with so many dishes.
Making vada at home is not a big deal. It is so simple and easy.you just follow my step by step pictures and try at your home. I'm going share lots of iftar recipes in my blog so, stay connected.

ingredients :
Minapappu/urad dal/white lentils : 250 grams
Finely chopped onion : 1 (medium)
chopped green chillies : 2
Chopped Curry leaves : 2 strings
Salt to taste
soda bicarbonate : 1/4 tea spoon
Jeera/cumin seeds : 1/2 tea spoon
Oil for deep frying
Method :
Soak urad dal for 1 to 2 hours and wash it 2 to 3 Times
Now take soaked dal into blender add salt and soda bicarbonate and blend it coarsely (don't add water)
Now take coarsely blended batter into a bowl add all remaining ingredients and mix it well,if batter is too hard add 2 to 3 table spoons of water.
Now take any plastic cover and apply some water and wet your hands then put some portion of vada mix and make like vada shape as shown in pics
Now heat oil and deep fry vada on both sides till they changes into golden color.
Serve hot!!!!!

Add chopped onions |
Add green chilli and curry leaves |
Add jeera |
Mix it well |
Wet your hands |
Take some portion make a round shape |
Put small hole init |
Drop them into hot oil |
Fry on both sides |
Fry till golden color |
Take them into a plate |
Serve hot!!!! |
