Few months back I posted this recipe in my YouTube channel. I was postponing this recipe recipe to post in my blog. Finally I got some time to post this recipe.
Making fish biryani is so simple and easy. It tastes absolutely delicious. If you want to try something new with fish then you just go for this recipe and make yummy biryani for your loved ones.first we have to marinate fish in some spices then cooked in masala and rice. Trust me it's gonna rock in your family.i used my homemade biryani masala in this recipe.(click here for recipe).

Ingredients
Fish : 1 kg
Basmati rice : 1/2 kg
Sliced onions : 4 (medium)
Sliced tomatoes : 3 (Medium)
Green chillies : 4
Lemon juice : 2 tea spoons
Coriander powder : 2 tea spoons
Chilly powder : 1 tea spoon
Curd : 3/4 cup /150 ml
Ginger garlic paste : 2 table spoons
homemade biryani masala : 1 tea spoon
Coriander leaves : 1/4 cup
Mint leaves : 1/4 cup
Oil : 1/2 cup /100 ml
Salt to taste
whole Garam masala
Bay leaf/tej patta/biryani aaku : 1
Cloves/lavangam : 4
Cardamom/yaalukalu : 4
Cinnomon sticks : 2
For marination :
homemade biryani masala : 1/2 tea spoon
Coriander powder : 1 tea spoon
Chilly powder : 1/2 tea spoon
Lemon juice : 2 tea spoons
Salt to taste
Turmeric powder : 1/2 tea spoon
First take all ingredients.
Clean fish pieces then add all marination ingredients and mix it well then keep a side for 30 minutes.
Now wash and soak rice for 30 minutes.
Now heat heavy bottom pan pour oil and fry fish pieces on both sides for 5 minutes then take them into a plate.
In same pan add whole Garam masala then add onions and chillies fry till onions turns into golden color
Now add ginger garlic paste and saute till raw flavours disappear.
Now add tomatoes and saute tomatoes turns soft.
Now add coriander powder,chilly powder and biryani masala saute for few seconds.
Now add curd and saute till oil leaves it sides.
Now add coriander leaves,mint leaves,lemon juice and salt stir it well then pour 300 ml of water and drop fried fish pieces and cook for 5 minutes.
While making this process turn on another burner and boil water by adding salt then add soaked rice and cook till 80% done then drain the water and keep this a side.
After 5 minutes take out the fish pieces from gravy and take into a plate.
Now add cooked rice to gravy and mix it well.
Now arrange fish pieces on rice cover the lid and cook on low flame for 5 to 10 minutes and switch off the flame.
Add all marination ingredients |
Mix it and marinate for 30 minutes |
Heat oil and fry fish pieces |
Fry on both sides |
Take them into a plate |
In same pan add whole Garam masala |
Add onions and chillies |
Fry till golden color |
Add ginger garlic paste saute for few minutes |
Add tomatoes |
Cook till tomatoes turns soft |
Add chilly powder |
Add biryani masala |
Add coriander powder saute for few seconds |
Add curd and saute for few minutes |
Add coriander and mint leaves |
Add salt |
Add lemon juice |
Pour water |
Add fried fish |
Cook for 5 minutes |
Take out the fish from gravy |
Soak rice for 30 minutes |
Boil water by adding salt |
Add soaked rice |
Cook till it is 80% done |
Drain the water |
Add cooked rice to gravy |
Mix well |
Arrange fish pieces on top |
Cook on low flame for 5 to 10 minutes |
Gently mix it |
Serve hot!!!!!! |
