JEERA RICE RECIPE



Hi..... Today I'm going to share simple and easy jeera rice recipe.you can make this recipe with very simple ingredients. Basmati rice cooked with cumin seeds, onions and mint leaves. You can also cook this with regular rice, but basmati rice gives a good flavor to this dish. You can serve this with any veg or non veg gravies. It tastes really awesome. I mostly serve jeera/zeera rice with hara masala murgbutter Chicken,chicken changezi and butter paneer masala. I used shahi zeera and jeera in this recipe. You can also use only jeera in this recipe. To make this recipe more easier I made this in pressure cooker. If you want to make this in vessel add 1:2 ratio of water and rice.

Ingredients :

Basmati rice : 2 cups
Water : 3 cups
Cumin seeds/jeera : 1 1/2 tea spoons
Shahi jeera/black cumin seeds : 1 1/2 tea spoons
Mint leaves : 3 strings
Garam masala : 1/2 tea spoon
Salt to taste
Oil/ghee : 1/4 cup
Onions : 1 large chopped

My one cup measures 200ml

Method :

First wash and soak rice for 30 minutes.

Now heat oil/ghee in pressure cooker add cumin seeds let them crackle

Now add onions saute for few minutes then add mint leaves saute for few seconds

Now add garam masala saute for few seconds

Now pour water and add salt 

Now drain water from rice and add soaked rice to pressure cooker and stir it once

Now close the pressure cooker lid cook for 3 vessels and remove from fire

Now leave this for 20 to 30 minutes or steam goes out.

Remove the lid stir it gently and serve hot.
Soak rice for 30 minutes

Heat ghee/oil add cumin seeds

Add onions saute for a while

Add mint leaves

Add garam masala

Pour water and add salt

Add rice

Stir it

Pressure cook it and. Remove from fire and let the steam go out

Rice is cooked well

Stir it gently

Serve hot.
