Halwa is my all time favorite sweet. Specially I like sticky and chewy halwa so much. Recently made this tasty godhuma halawa/wheat halwa. It tastes heaven. I saw this recipe in local cooking channel and I immediately made this halwa. Few years back I made my grandma style halwa. That recipe calls for whole wheat grains. I soaked them for overnight and blended into a paste then strained milk from it and prepared halwa. It took lot of time to make that halwa. But recently when I saw this recipe in tv I found this recipe very easy. I just mixed wheat flour in water and made like milk then strained it and prepared tasty halwa. When I was preparing this halwa my house was filled with my relatives. They all tasted this halwa and they praised me a lot!!!!!
godhuma halwa is an traditional sweet dish as well. It has a sticky consistency and tastes great with lots of ghee. It tastes great when it is warm and you have to consume on same day. Otherwise sugar crystals may form. (this is my experience) use good quality of ghee which takes your halwa to the peaks.it takes some time to make this halwa. Not easy as my
Bombay karachi halwa recipe. Please do try with patience and enjoy the authentic taste of this godhuma halwa.
I hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turned out for you.
