spicy boti curry/boti salan recipe

Back to blogging after 5 days!!!!!!! I was really busy from 5 days with eid preparations and celebrations.....today I'm going to share village style yummy boti salan recipe. One of my viewer requested post this recipe. So, thought to share this tasty recipe today.

I prepare this dish twice or thrice in a year. Because cleaning boti is really tough part. But tastes really great. I prepare boti in three ways,  we can make boti fry and and we can also cook with sorrel leaves (gongoora). It can be served as side dish for roti or rice.

If you are a boti lover then try this recipe and let me know how it turned out for you.

Ingredients :

Large boti : 1 cleaned and cut into pieces)
Chopped medium onions : 2
Chopped small tomatoes : 2
cloves : 2
cinnamon sticks : 2 small
Oil : 2 table spoons
coconut paste : 1 1/2 table spoon
salt to taste
coriander powder : 1 table spoon
chilly powder : 1 tea spoon or as per your taste
green chilly : 2
turmeric powder : 1+1/2 tea spoon
Coriander leaves : 4 to 5 strings (chopped)
Ginger garlic paste : 1 and 1/2 table spoons

Method :

First clean boti well then drain the excess water and add 1 tea spoon of salt and t1 tea spoon of turmeric powder stir it and boil until water gets dry.

Now take a vessel add oil let it heat then add cinnamon and cloves

Now add onions and green chilly saute for 3 to 4 minutes then add ginger garlic paste saute until raw flavors disappear

Now add tomatoes saute for 2 to 3 minutes then add chilly, coriander and turmeric powders, then add coconut paste saute for few seconds then add boiled boti and saute for few seconds

Now pour sufficient water and cook until boti pieces gets soft. Check salt once then add more salt if needed, because we already added salt while boiling boti.

Now sprinkle coriander leaves and cook on  low flame for 5 to 10 minutes or until water gets dry then remove from fire and serve with roti and rice.

Note :

Cleaning boti in plenty if water is very important.

Check salt once then add if required because we have already added salt while boiling

I used pressure cooker to cook boti. Otherwise it takes long time to cook.
