Nargisi kofta curry is a mughlai dish mostly served with naan. Egg coated with minced meat, fried and served with rich gravy. It tastes great with roti, naan or rice. If you are inviting your friends or relatives for dinner you can impress them with this tasty mughlai dish.
It doesn't take much time to prepare this yummy nargisi kofta curry. You can make this with mutton or chicken. Today I uses minced mutton in this recipe. I have blended boneless mutton in to fine paste and used in this recipe. If readymade minced meat is available in your place you can use that too.I served this with (click here for recipe).

Ingredients :
For kofta :
Minced mutton : 500 grams
large onion : 1 roughly chopped
Green chilly : 1
Chilly powder : 1 tea spoon
Ginger garlic paste : 1 tea spoon
Turmeric powder : 1/2 tea spoon
Salt to taste
gram flour/besan/chanaga pindi : 4 table spoons
garam masala : 1 tea spoon
oil for deep frying
Hard boiled eggs : 6
For gravy :
Medium onions : 3 (blend into fine paste)
medium tomatoes : 4 (blend into fine paste)
Almond/cashew nuts : 25 (blend into fine) paste
Ginger garlic paste : 1 table spoon
Beaten curd : 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder : 1/2 tea spoon
Coriander powder : 1 table spoon
Chilly powder : 1/2 tea spoon
Oil : 3 table spoons
Roasted cumin powder : 1 tea spoon
Garam masala : 1 tea spoon
Coriander leaves : 1/2 cup
Whole garam masala :
Cloves : 4
cardamoms : 4
Cinnamon : 2 (1 inch size)
shah zeera /black cumin seeds : 1 tea spoon
Method :
First take minced mutton into a blender add all ingredients (except oil and eggs) blend into a fine paste
Now divide this mixture into 6 equal portion
Take polthyn cover,wet your hands and spread one portion of mutton mixture put one boiled egg and roll it and coat egg with mutton mince all over the sides as shown in pic. (make sure no cracks)
Now drop them in hot oil and fry on medium heat until they changes into golden color then take them into a plate.
Now to make gravy heat oil in a pan add whole garam masala then add onion paste and ginger garlic paste saute till raw flavors disappear
Now add add coriander,turmeric,chilly and cumin powders saute for few seconds then add tomato puree cook for 3 to 5 minutes
Now add almond paste and saute for few seconds then add beaten curd saute for 1 minute
Now add 3 to 4 cups of water and cook on high flame for 5 minutes by covering the lid (add more water if needed) stir in between.
Now cut fried eggs into two parts. (this is optional, you can also add whole egg)
Now add fried eggs to gravy and cook on low flame for 3 minutes
Finally sprinkle coriander leaves and garam masala powder and serve hot.
Take minced mutton into a blender |
Add all kofta ingredients |
Blend into a fine paste and divide into 6 equal portions |
Take hard boiled eggs remove the shell |
Take plastic cover spread one portion of mutton mince |
Put one egg in middle |
Roll it |
Seal the edges and coat egg all over the sides |
Gently drop them in hot oil |
Fry on medium heat until they changes into golden color |
Take them into a plate |
Now to make gravy take another pan heat oil add whole garam masala |
Add onion paste |
Add ginger garlic paste |
Saute till raw flavors disappear |
Now add all spice powders (except garam masala powder) saute for few seconds |
Add tomato puree cook for a while |
Add almond paste saute for few minutes |
Add curd saute for few minutes |
Pour water |
Cook on high flame for 5 minutes,stir in between |
Cut koftas into half (optional) |
Now add koftas to gravy and cook on low flame for 3 minutes |
Finally sprinkle garam masala powder and coriander leaves and remove from fire |
It's done now!!! |
Serve hot!!!! |
