Moong dal kachori is an popular street food in India.today I'm going to show you this popular yummy moong dal kachori recipe. This is one of my favorite tea time snacks.I love this kachori a lot. Whenever I go for shopping I will use to have these wonderful kachoris. Few months back I tried these kachoris at home and they just turned like those street kavhoris!!!!!!!
Making moong dal khasta kachori at home is so simple and easy. We need very simple ingredients to make yummy kachori. They tastes exactly as street kachoris.

Ingredients :
For dough :
Maida : 2 cups/250 grams
Oil : 1/3 cup/75 ml
Salt : 1/2 tea spoon
water as needed
For filling :
Moong dal/green gram : 1/3 cup/75 grams
Grated ginger : 1 tea spoon
Coriander seeds : 1 tea spoon
Fennel seeds/sounf/sompu : 1 tea spoon
Chopped green chillies : 2
Cumin seeds : 1 tea spoon
Hing/inguva : 1/4 tea spoon
Oil : 1 table spoon
Chilly powder : 1/2 tea spoon
Turmeric powder : 1/2 tea spoon
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves : 2 table spoons
Garam masala : 1/2 tea spoon
Oil for deep frying
Method :
First soak moong dal for 2 to 4 hours
Now take flour add oil and salt mix it well with your hands then add some water knead into a dough (remember dough should not be soft nor hard)
Now rest this dough for 20 to 30 minutes.
To prepare filling :
Coarsely blend coriander and fennel seeds.
Now drain the water from soaked dal and coarsely blend soaked moong dal without adding water and keep it a side.
Now take a pan add oil add cumin seeds let them crackle then add green chillies and grated ginger,saute for few seconds
Now add coarsely blended fennel and coriander seeds powder. Saute for few seconds.
now add coarsely blended moong dal and then add chilly powder,Garam masala and salt saute for 1 to 2 minutes,then pour 1/2 cup of water and stir it till all water absorbs and mixture becomes dry. Finally add coriander leaves saute for few seconds and remove from fire. Let the mixture cools completely.
Now take rested dough divide into 7 to 8 equal portions
Slightly press with your fingers and make a bowl shape and put 2 tea spoons of dal mixture and seal the edges ad shown in picture.
Now slightly press with your hands or rolling pin. (don't roll too much just roll it once)
Heat oil in medium flame(oil should be in medium heat)
Drop these kachoris in oil and fry on medium flame till they changes into golden color by turning in between.
Now take these kachoris in a plate and serve.
Soak dal for few hours then drain the water |

Pour water and make a dough |
Blend soaked dal coarsely without adding water |
Coarsely blend coriander and fennel seeds |
Heat oil add cumin seeds,add ginger and chilles |
Add blended coriander and fennel seeds |
Add hing |
Saute for a while |
Add blended dal |
Add chilly powder,Garam masala and salt saute for few seconds |
Pour water |
Saute till water dries
Add coriander leaves saute for few seconds |
Remove from fire and let the mixture cools completely |
Divide dough into equal portions |
Make a small bowl like shape put some filling |
Seal the edges |

Slightly press it |
Now they are ready to fry |
Heat oil and fry them on medium flame |
Fry till they changes into golden color |
Serve hot!!!! |
