Hi...... Today I'm going to share very simple breakfast recipe that is upma. Making upma is so simple. You need just 10 minutes to make yummy upma. whenever you are in hurry and you want make simple breakfast. then try this recipe,with in 10 minutes you Will have yummy breakfast infront of you. You need very simple ingredients for this recipe.it well goes with any chutney or pickle. It tastes great with Andhra pesarattu, will share that recipe soon......hope you like this recipe.

Ingredients :
Upma rava/soji/semolina : 1 cup
Water : 2 cups
Chopped onion : 1 (medium)
Chopped green chillies : 2
Chopped Ginger : 1 tea spoon
Salt to taste
Oil /ghee : 1 table spoon
Mustard seeds : 1/2 tea spoon
chana dal/chanaga pappu : 1 tea spoon
curry leaves : 1 string
Cashew nuts : 8 to 10
My 1 cup measures 200ml
Method :
First dry roast soji/upma rava for 2 to 3 minutes then take this into a plate
Now in same pan add oil/ghee then add Cashew nuts and fry till light golden color and take them into a bowl.
Now in same pan add mustard seeds let them crackle then add chana dal now add onions,ginger,green chillies and curry leaves saute for 2 to 3 minutes
Now pour water, bring it to boil then add salt.
While water is boiling add rava/soji with one hand and stir continuously with other hand to avoid lumps.
When water gets dry cook on low flame for 1 minute by covering the lid then remove from fire.
Finally add cashew nuts and serve hot.
Dry roast rava for couple of minutes then take into a plate |
Fry cashew nuts till golden color then take them into a plate |
In same pan add mustard seeds and chana dal |
Add onions,chilly and ginger |
Add curry leaves |
Saute for few minutes |
Pour water |
Add salt and let the water boil |
Now add roasted soji by stirring continuously till water gets dry |
Cook on low flame for 1 minute by covering the lid |
Add cashew nuts |
Serve!!!! |
