HOMEMADE SAMOSA PATTI/SAMOSA SHEET RECIPE


Finding somosa sheets in my place is really hard. So, I make my own samosa Patti at home. But sometimes I request my cousins who lives in benguluru and Hyderabad to bring some packs of samosa sheets for me, and yes they always sent me Samosa Patti,so sweet of them.

This recipe was requested by many viewers. Though there are 2 packs of storebought samosa sheets lying in my fridge, Finally I made them for you all. Infact I'm a Big fan of homemade samosa sheets. They tastes really amazing than storebought ones. Process is also  so simple and easy. They tastes just as street samosas.

I hope you will give this a try and let me know how they turned out for you.

Ingredients :

All purpose flour/maida : 250 grams(1/2 cup extra for dusting)
Salt :3/4 tea spoon
Oil : 1/3 cup

Method :

First take flour and salt in a bowl, mix it well. Then add 2 table spoons of oil and mix it well with your hands.

Now add water little by little and knead into a soft dough.

Cover with wet cloth and let it rest for 15 minutes.

Now divide the dough into 6 equal portions.

Take one portion of the dough make a smooth ball and roll it into 5 to 6 inch sheet. Continue the same process and make 6 sheets by dusting with some flour.

Now take one sheet apply one tea spoon of oil all over the sheet with hand then sprinkle some flour.

Now put another sheet on it as shown in the pic repeat the same process until all sheets are done.

Now sprinkle some flour on clean surface and roll these sheets into 10 to 12 inches.

Now heat pan or tawa put this rolled sheets on it cook for 30 to 40 seconds and flip it.

Now gently remove the cooked sheet. Then flip it on other side then gently remove another Patti which is cooked. Continue the same process until it's done.

Now cut the edges of sheets and cut into 2 or 3 sheets.

Now homemade samosa Patti is ready to use.

Note :

You can store these sheets in zip lock bags and keep in freezer. It can be stored upto 1 month.

You can also use these sheets to make spring rolls.



Take salt and flour in a bowl, add oil

Rub it well with your hands

Add water little by little 

Knead into a smooth dough

Cover with wet cloth and rest it for 15 minutes

Divide into 6 equal portions

Dust some flour on clean surface take one portion of dough 

Roll it

Roll other portions too 

Take one rolled sheet apply drizzle some oil

Spread it well

Sprinkle some flour

Place another rolled sheet

Drizzle some oil

Continue the same process until all sheets are done


Now it's all done

Now roll it into 10 to 12 inch chapathi


Place it on hot tawa or pan,cook for few seconds

Flip it

Gently remove cooked sheet

Again flip it
Repeat the same process until all sheets are done


Now cut the edges

Cut them into sheets like this

Samosa Patti or sheets are ready to use

You can deep fry these left over edges and have it with tea


Homemade samosa sheets are ready to use!!!!

punjabi aloo samosa




Here is my favorite snack recipe Punjabi aloo samosa recipe.i love these samosa a lot. Whenever I prepare these samosas my family enjoys a lot.these are crispy and golden Brown color out and filled with soft spicy potato masala inside.these samosas tastes so good. If you want extra taste just serve with tomato sauce (recipe here) or have it with khatti meethi chutney (recipe here).

Ingredients :

For dough

Maida : 2 cups (250 grams)
ghee : 1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Ajwain : 1 tea spoon

For filling :

Boiled and peeled potatoes : 250 grams
Boiled peas : 1/2 cup
Chopped green chillies : 2
Ginger,garlic paste : 1/2 tea spoon
chat masala : 1/2 tea spoon
cumin powder : 1/2 tea spoon
Coriander powder : 1 tea spoon
chilly powder : 1/2 tea spoon
Oil : 1 table spoon
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves : 2 table spoons

Method :

First start with making dough. Take a mixing bowl add all dry ingredients and mix it well then add ghee and mix well with hands.then add water little by little and make a hard dough (not soft) rest it for 15 to 20 minutes

Now take a pan add oil add green chillies saute for few seconds then add ginger garlic paste and saute for few seconds

Now add all spice powders and saute for few seconds

Now add roughly mashed potatoes and boiled peas and stir on medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes then add coriander leaves and mix well and switchoff the flame

Now take small portion of dough and roll it thinly cut into two parts

Take one part put some filling in the middle and apply water on edges then fold it from one side and fold from other side as shown in pictures and press the edges.

Now heat oil (oil should not be very hot) drop this samosa in oil and fry on medium flame till they changes into golden color.

Serve hot!!!!!

NOTE : if you want crispy and golden color samosa, adding 1/2 cup of ghee into the dough is very important

Another thing is you should fry on medium heat for crispy samosa.






Take all dry ingredients

Add ghee

Mix it well

Add water and make a dough and rest it

Heat oil add green chillies

Add ginger garlic paste

Add all spice powders

Saute it


Mash potatoes coarsely

Add potatoes

Add Boiled peas and saute it


Add coriander leaves

Filling is ready

Take small portion of dough and roll it thinly

Cut into two equal portions

Put some filling in the middle

Fold it like this from one side

Fold it from other side like this

It's ready to fry

Fry on medium flame

Serve!!!!
