PRAWNS PULAO RECIPE


I'm getting so many requests to share prawns biryani recipe. But I was waiting for large prawns. Recently hubby bought some tiger prawns then immediately I decided share yummy prawn biryani recipe. Though the title of this post is prawn pulao, in our family we call prawn biryani ;) . Taste of this biryani is delicious. But ,don't worry will share another yummy prawn biryani recipes some day.

Servings : 2 to 3 persons


Ingredients :


Large prawns : 300 grams(without shell)
Basmati rice : 2 1/2 cups / 500 grams
Medium sliced onions : 3
Slitted green chillies : 3 to 4
Medium sliced tomatoes : 3
Ginger garlic paste : 2 table spoons
Coriander leaves : 1/4 bunch
Mint leaves : 1/4 bunch
Curd : 125 grams/1/2 cup
Salt to taste
Lemon juice : 1 table spoon
Chilly powder : 1/2 tea spoon
Coriander powder : 1 tea spoon
Oil : 1/2 cup/100ml
Ghee : 1 tea spoon
Cinnamon sticks : 2 small
Cloves : 4
Cardamom : 2

Method :


Wash and soak rice for 30 to 60 minutes

First heat oil in a heavy bottom vessel then add Cinnamon,cardamom and cloves, then add onions and green chillies saute till they changes into light golden color

Now add ginger garlic paste and saute for 1 to 2 minutes then add tomatoes and saute till tomatoes are well cooked

Now add prawns and saute for 5 minutes then add all spice powders and saute for few minutes.

Now add curd and saute for few minutes then add Lemon juice,coriander and mint leaves and mix it well.

Now add rice and mix it gently and add 5 cups of water,mix it well and cover with lid.

Now let it cook until it's done by stirring between. When there is little water in. Pulao, sprinkle some ghee, cover and cook on low flame for 5 to 10 minutes and serve hot.

Wash and soak basmati rice

Heat oil in a vessel,add cinnamon,cardamom and cloves

Now add chillies and onions

Fry until they changes into golden color

Add ginger garlic paste,saute for few minutes


Add tomatoes and cook well

Add prawns

Cook for Few minutes

Now add salt, chilly and coriander powders and stir it well

Add curd and cook for few minutes


Add coriander and mint leaves

Squeeze some lemon juice and stir it

Now add rice

Mix it gently

Add water and cook by covering the lid

When there is little water,simmer the flame

Spread some ghee and cook for 5 to 10 minutes or water gets dry

Now it's done,remove from fire

Serve hot!!!!

MUSHROOM PULAO RECIPE/MUSHROOM BIRYANI RECIPE



Mushroom pulao is a is an easy and tasty recipe and there is no difference between non veg pulao and mushroom pulao.it tastes exactly as chicken or mutton biryani if you try this recipe. Ingredients are also  very simple and easily available.this whole process will be done under 30 minutes and perfect to serve in and in lunch box.

Servings : 2 to 3


My 1 cup measures 200ml


Ingredients :


Basmati rice : 2 cups
Mushrooms : 250 grams
Large onion : 1 (sliced)
Large tomato : 1 (sliced)
Curd/yogurt : 1/2 cup
Ginger garlic paste : 1 table spoon
Coriander powder : 1 tea spoon
Chilly powder : 1/2 tea spoon
Green chillies : 2
Oil/ghee : 1/3 cup
Coriander leaves : 2 table spoons
Mint leaves : 2 table spoons
Salt to taste

Whole Garam masala :

Bay leaf : 1
Star anise : 1
Cinnamon stick : 1
Cloves : 3
Cardamom : 2
Shajeera/black cumin seeds : 1 tea spoon
Stone flower/phattar phool : 1

Method :

Wash and soak rice for 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Heat oil or ghee in a heavy bottom pan.(I used ghee)

Add whole garam masala and saute for few seconds.

Now add onions and slitted green chillies, fry until onions changes into golden color.

Now add ginger garlic paste and saute until raw flavors disappear.

Now add tomatoes and saute well.

Now add mushrooms and saute well and add coriander powder, salt and chilly powder. Stir it for few minutes.

Now add curd and cook for few minutes.

Now add coriander and mint leaves,saute w for few seconds and and add 4 cups of  water.

Now add rice and mix it well. Cover and cook until water dries by stirring in between.

When there is little water simmer the flame and cook for 5 to 8 minutes and remove from fire and serve hot.

Cut your veggies

Wash and soak basmati rice

Heat oil or ghee in a pan,add whole Garam masala

Saute for few seconds

Add onions and chillies,saute until they changes into golden color

Now add ginger garlic paste

Saute until raw flavors disappear

Add tomatoes and cook them well

Add mushrooms

Saute well

Add coriander powder,chilly powder and salt

Saute for few minutes

Add curd and saute for 2 to 3 minutes

Add coriander and mint leaves

Add water

Mix it well

Add soaked rice

Mix it

Cover and cook

When there is little water simmer the flame and cook for 5 minutes by covering the lid

Stir it gently

Now yummy mushroom biryani is ready

Serve hot!!!

LEMON RICE RECIPE/CHITRANNAM RECIPE


Lemon rice is also called chitrannam,nimmakaya annam and nimmakaya pulihora in telugu. It is quite famous dish in south india. Lemon rice can be easily prepared within 5 minutes. But you should have cooked and cooled rice in your hand. It tastes best with any veg fries, appadam(papad) and vada. I always serve with minapa vada(medu vada) my family loves this combo.

        I wanted share this easy recipe from quite long time. But this is so quick and easy recipe which I always make in a hurry and don't have time to take pictures. But last Sunday finally I got some time to take pictures. I always prepare this rice with leftover rice. If you want to prepare with fresh rice, then cook rice  2 to 3 hours early and let it cool completely.

Servings : 2 to 3


Ingredients :


Cooked rice : 2 cups
Medium size lemon : 2 or as required
Pea nuts or cashews : 1/4 cup
Dried Red chillies : 2
Mustard seeds/aavaalu : 1 tea spoon
Chana dal/Bengal gram/chanaga pappu : 2 tea spoons
Curry leaves : 2 strings
Oil : 2 table spoons
Turmeric powder : 1/2 tea spoon
Salt to taste

Method :


First heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, let them crackle. Then add chana dal and pea nuts,fry for few seconds.

Now add chillies and curry leaves, saute for few seconds and then add Turmeric powder,stir it.

Now add lemon juice and salt give it fast stir and add cooked rice.

Saute for 2 to 3 minutes and switch off the flame and serve.

Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds

Add chana dal

Add peanuts

Fry until they changes into light golden color

Now add chillies

Add curry leaves and stir it

Now add turmeric powder

Add lemon juice

Immediately add salt

Add rice

Saute for 2 to 3 minutes and remove from fire


Serve

Yummy lemon rice is ready!!!!!
